OET Writing for doctors (45 minutes)
In the speaking section, you will engage in two role-playing activities in which you will play the professional (i.e. physician) and the interlocutor (the person facilitating this aspect of the test) will play the patient, a patient's relative, or a caretaker.
You begin by receiving a card that includes details on the setting, the patient, and the task. You have three minutes to prepare after receiving the card. After that, you have five minutes to act out the part. Once you've completed the first role-play, you'll be given a card for the second role-play, which will follow the identical stages as the first but with a different patient and task.

OET Listening doctors (50 minutes)
The exam measures your ability to interpret spoken language in this area. It's broken down into three sections: A, B, and C. You'll listen to physician-patient consultations (part A), monologues (one person speaking), and/or dialogues (two persons speaking) (parts B and C). Each encounter will need you to fill in the blanks using information from the listening exercise.

OET Reading for doctors (60 minutes)
You will be given readings that address various healthcare-related issues at this level, and you will be asked questions based on these materials. There are three sections to the reading: A, B, and C. Part A takes 15 minutes and is completed alone. Parts B and C must be completed simultaneously, and you have 45 minutes to accomplish both (so make sure you monitor the time carefully). Part B comprises six short texts ranging from 100 to 150 words from a healthcare setting, each with one multiple-choice question with three alternatives. Part C is made up of two large texts of up to 800 words each, each of which is broken into paragraphs and covers a specific topic. Part C consists of eight four-option multiple-choice questions. The benefit of part C questions is that they point you in the right direction in the book (i.e., specifying what paragraph in the text the question is about).
